Signs to ask for forgiveness
It is ironic that the material used to make this Landart piece was collected from a pile of trash that was next to a sign that said "Respect the Environment, don't litter."

Signs to ask for forgiveness (from the Earth´s fruits series)
Land art developed reusing twenty safety helmets found in a pile of rubbish in the desert in Antofagasta, Chile.
Art in Nature III. Curators Andrea Juan y Gabriel Penedo Diego. Guest Curator Marisa Caichiolo. Museum of Nature of Cantabria, Spain. 2023
Through a particular gesture, after having found twenty safety helmets that had been thrown in a pile of rubbish in the middle of the desert, I proceeded to perform an act of reconciliation to ask for forgiveness. Through this, I seek to relate the helmets to mining, which is one of the most invasive activities against Mother Earth and it is impossible for me not to think about the ancestors who inhabited these lands. That is why, through this simple act, I seek to leave them a sign in the middle of the desert, but this time, unlike the signs they left in the past on the slopes of the mountains and hills, the sign has been focused to the sky, the place where they live eternally, to request their guidance and advice, which allows us to recover the lost direction and reconnect again with our Mother Earth, assuming that we are all Nature.
