Project developed in collaboration with Dr. Eric Larour (JPL/NASA).
Photographs collected from: NASA Observatory “World of Change”, the National Snow and Ice Data Center and the Glacier Repeat photo project from the Glacier National Park Montana.
A group of photographs of Glaciers from the end of XIX century to present days is hanged in the wall but they don’t look like regular photographs because they have suffered the action of oblivion. Their image is no longer the same and their melted presence remembers us how far our actions has arrived. The closer to present the more melted the image is, inviting us to think about how the past of time has changed their natural and pristine shape.
The melting process of the Poles and Glaciers is one of the factors that contributes with sea level rise around the world and we can perceive through these melted images how much ice has them lost since the late XIX century to present days.
World is changing and we are involved in this process where landscapes are shifting from their untouched shape to a completely different one.
